What Are Film Genres? Activity 2
I recent thriller type genre movie that I've seen would be The Devil Inside. It's mainly a documentary, but it does have a thriller concept. The protagonist's mother was possessed by multiple demons and ended up killing people during an exorcism. She was put into a rehabilitation center in Italy where she was heavily medicated and they assumed that she was sane during the killings. The conspiracy was that she was possessed at the time or that there were things that initiated the killings to occur, but it was really the multiple demons that possessed the mother for her to be the way she was. Later the demons spread and ended up killing everyone that was a part in the process/case.
What Are Film Genres? Activity 1
Genre is a type/style of movie. My favorite type of genre in film would be Action/Adventure. My 3 favorite movies would be Captain America, Thor, and Green Lantern. All three of theses movies are superhero style movies, but all three have generally the same concept. Majority of the time, Action/Adventure genre movies deal with the hero or protagonist being practically at their lowest, they seek an opportunity and take it, and then they have an intense battle/fight between a rival/antagonist and get the girl in the end, generally. Other Action/Adventure genre movies can start off where they are in battle and dominate the enemy, they are given a challenge, they come into conflict in the process either during or before the real challenge, and then reach an epic battle in which they dramatically win.

Concept 45 #1
TRON, Transformers (1-3) and Lord of the Rings (1-3) are all examples of movies where an character's life is challenged by extraordinary events or circumstances. In TRON, the kid's father's company was taken over after his father was found missing, the son went back to the old arcade where he would play with his dad and entered a world that he couldn't imagine. He was able to find his father, as well as find out what was taking place in the TRON world. In Transformers, Sam Widwickee was just a normal high school kid looking to buy his first car, and ended up owning an Autobot, which led to him being in the middle of a war between Autobots and Decepticons. He then goes off to college to live a normal life and once again is in the middle of another war. In the final movie he was found living in the real world looking for a job/career and finds himself being a big help in a major battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. He was looked at as a "messenger" but he was an ordinary person who saved the world and a hero within 3-5 years. In Lord of the Rings, Frodo Baggins was just an ordinary hobbit, and then put in the middle of a colossus battle/war between men, , hobbits, elves and dwarfs against orcs to destroy a ring. He was just a simple regular hobbit in a town, and ended up being a hero along the journey.
Concept 44 #2
My favorite "good guy" sidekick would be Robin. Robin would help out Batman after he was to live with Bruce Wayne who was Batman in the evening. Robin first wanted revenge but later found to control his anger and try to help the greater good, just like Batman, so he became his sidekick.

Concept 43 #2
The person I care for most is my mom. A trait I least like about her is that she has been either having "selective hearing" or she is actually no paying attention or seriously can't hear. This has been established since I was 12, but it hasn't happened that much over the years, but does a couple times more than it should. I would say this started to occur because of her age and what she does; she is now going to be 50 and she is almost done working as a firefighter which she has been doing for about 30 years. I love her dearly and is the best mom I could've asked for.

Concept 42 #2
In the movie A Bug's Life, Flik's maintains the sam attitude and beliefs throughout the film, and alters other characters around him, such as the Princess and the entire ant community. Flik was sad at times, but his beliefs remain the same as well as the character he is in the story.

Concept 41 #2
My action/adventure hero would attempt to save all ten people regardless of the situation or outcome. I don't really understand why he would save the loved one last rather than first, but if that were the case, he would still attempt to save that loved one even if he may die with that person. He would make sure all of the rescued citizens were in safe territory while he would rush back to rescue his loved one, but he wouldn't be able to make it in time to save his loved one.
